Term 2 - Week 4 - Portfolio Research

Dani Brubaker:

I discovered another artist model online through a google search; her name is Dani Brubaker.
Dani Brubaker is an American Photographer. I couldn't find much about her online. Her Facebook  and Blogspot "about" section says: I grew up by the code of the Native American Indian. The code, which venerates children yet allows them freedom of self-expression.

She has photographed and been published for brands such as Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Hugo Boss. Aside from her editorial work, I am in love with her "Kids" work. Below is some of her "Kids" work:

Her work I find very inspirational because of how she creates such a beautiful image with children. The props she uses from masks to costume adds great features in the photographs and also adds to the character of the photograph. I have loved her work from 2012 and I don't know why I didn't think of her as an artist model from the beginning. Dani's work is what I aim for every time I photograph, her work has this level of professionalism that I aspire towards to take my work from amateur to editorial quality. Just by viewing her photos, I already have some ideas for another shoot that I want to try out, such as the masks and balloons. I feel like that really helps to portray a childs' character.
